INFORMATION GUIDE, SEC. 2-J – “Snow removal from streets, parking areas, and
walkways”
Elaborating
on this “general responsibility,” the following objectives are established for
implementation of snow removal procedures.
SLV
RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES:
PRIORITY
1 – Clear roadways
and fire hydrants.
PRIORITY
2 – Clear
pedestrian access to all units – NOTE initially, may not be the most direct
access.
PRIORITY
3 – Clear access to
garages and roadways and provide back-out capability at parking spaces (not
already accomplished
under Priority 1). Clear bus stops and
storm drains.
PRIORITY
4 – Clear access to
Clubhouse and clear parking lots (Thimble Creek and Tennis Court Lots).
PRIORITY
5 – Provide
appropriate sanding to maintain clearance on roadways and unit access.
PRIORITY 6 – Provide access to garbage
cans. Complete Priority 2 by providing
complete access where
practicable.
Priority 1: ASAP
Priority 2
through 5: Within 24 hours after end
of snowfall
Priority 6: As
soon as practicable after priorities 1-5 are under control.
1.
Use
good judgment and common sense to take necessary precautions during storm
emergency conditions (i.e. provide for stock of food supplies; arrange for
necessary prescriptions to be on hand, re-schedule medical appointments; tune
in at a regular frequency to SLV Channel 21 for latest updates on emergency
conditions; and communicate any emergency to 911.
2.
Clearing
and removal of personal vehicles in parking spaces (after SLV has provided
back-out capability).
3.
Sanding
of hazardous areas in vicinity of unit (maintain a supply of sand by timely
requests to the Maintenance Department).
4.
Cover
all requests for maintenance via “Work Request” (by submitting written “Work
Request” or by telephone – 842-2201).
PLEASE NOTE: Voice Mail messages
are addressed promptly in order of priority without acknowledgement to
resident. Avoid submission of “routine”
work requests during storm emergency conditions.
5.
Be
tolerant and reasonable in your expectations!
Please keep in mind storms do interrupt normal routines, and it may be
necessary to make adjustments.
