The first step is to locate Red Bank, New Jersey on some convenient map. The following link provided by Yahoo Maps may be helpful. The red star in the center of the map is just about in the center of Shadow Lake Village. For the technologically advanced, the Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates for the Shadow Lake Village entrance are 40o 21.5' N, 74o 5.6' W (or 40.3582 N, 74.0933 W in decimal degrees).
It is important to note that Shadow Lake Village is actually located in the town of Middletown; Red Bank is the post office address. Shadow Lake Village is about a mile and a half Northwest of Red Bank itself.
Also note that Hubbard Avenue turns into Nut Swamp Road, which becomes Dwight Road, and so forth in typical New Jersey fashion. Do not be alarmed by these name changes, just keep driving without making any drastic turns.
The Shadow Lake Village entrance is a
four-lane arrangement with a wide divider.
It is marked by a white illuminated sign and
several flag poles. The street is called
Loch Arbor Way. There is a guardhouse where
you should be prepared to give the name, address
and telephone number of the party you are visiting.
The security person will be happy to give you
additional driving directions for locating that
address within the village. Or check the

From the North
Take the Garden State Parkway South to Exit 114. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp on Red Hill Road and cross over the parkway. Drive about 0.2 miles from the exit ramp to the second traffic light and turn right on Dwight Road. Drive 3.3 miles and look for the Shadow Lake Village entrance on your right.
From the South
Take the Garden State Parkway North to Exit 109. Bear left at the end of the exit ramp and proceed straight through the traffic light onto Half Mile Road. At the end (in a half mile!) turn right on West Front Street. In 0.8 miles, turn left on Hubbard Avenue. In another 0.8 miles, look for the Shadow Lake Village entrance on your left.
From the West
From Freehold take County Route 537 to Swimming River Road, take that North to Lincroft, then County Route 520 East until you get to the Parkway Exit 109. Take the right hand jughandle just under the parkway bridges, get on Half Mile Road Northbound, and follow the directions for "From the South" above.
From New Brunswick, take Route 18 to the exit past Route 9, where you can pick up County Route 520. Take that East to the Parkway Exit 109 and proceed as in the previous paragraph.

Note that trucks are not allowed on the Garden State Parkway North of Exit 105. State Highway 35 is the alternative proposed here.
When you get to the Shadow Lake Entrance, stay to the left and consult the person at the guardhouse. IF YOUR TRUCK IS MORE THAN 9 FEET TALL, please stay to the right to avoid making unintended structural modifications to the guardhouse. You will just have to shout across to the security person.
From the North
Take State Route 35 South toward Red Bank. Just before you get to Red Bank, watch closely for Navesink River Road. Navesink River Road is one mile past the traffic light at Cooper and Oak Hill Roads, and 0.4 mile past the light at Pine Street. Turn right on Navesink River Road and proceed 0.5 miles to the next traffic light. Turn right on Nut Swamp Road. The Shadow Lake Village entrance is 0.2 miles ahead on your left.
If you miss the Navesink River Road exit and
end up crossing the bridge into Red Bank,
don't despair. Bear to the right at the end
of the bridge, and at the first traffic light
turn right onto West Front Street.
At the first traffic light on West
Front Street after going under the railroad
and crossing the river, turn right onto
Hubbard Avenue. The Shadow Lake Village
entrance will be 0.8 miles on the left.
Note that this only works for SMALL trucks, there
is a railroad bridge with limited clearance
(10' 11") and a river bridge with limited capacity
(15 tons). If you have BIG truck, don't miss
Navesink River Road.
From the South
Proceed (painfully) through Red Bank on State Route 35. After crossing the bridge across the Navesink River at the North end of Red Bank, stay to the right and in 0.1 miles take the exit for Navesink River Road to the West. This is effectively a left turn, but in New Jersey, we do this by spinning around to the right instead. Proceed 0.5 miles to the next traffic light. Turn right on Nut Swamp Road. The Shadow Lake Village entrance is 0.2 miles ahead on your left.
From the West
Since the Parkway is not involved in East-West travel, the car directions will work equally well for trucks. See above.
